To nullify the burgundians without bringing down the central town center is easy because it's only a mining site actually, it needs food from the southern base. The english will never attack you as long as you follow those simple rules. The ressources it gives you are not needed anyway (see last step) and not worth the hassle.Īlso avoid getting too close of the first river crossing that trigger some longbows and catapults to come after you. You don't need to, you can defeat everyone without triggerring the english spam from destroying that town center. Never bring down the central map purple (burgundian) town center. This mission is actually very easy when you know what you need to do on this map. Maybe capturing their base triggers a very aggressive AI stance so the best thing to do would be, as you suggested, first destroying southwest and north ennemy bases before even capturing the central base, so that you face only the Red player instead of 1 vs 3. On my next try I didn't capture Burgundy city immidietly, just defeated their armies, then destroyed their southwest base, then came back to capture the town and attack strawsberry in the north, only to get spammed again. I first tried to capture Burgundy as the scenario implies and got immidietly spammed to death by the 3 ennemy factions with monks, knights trebuchets rams and catapults, to the point of not even having the time to develop my city. But Joan has five easy to normal campaigns, followed by an impossible one.Hello, yes the 6th mission for the French (Joan of arc Martyr) seems to be heavily unbalanced at the moment.īy comparison I played the 5 prior missions in intermediate without much problem, and I had experience with vanilla Aoe2, I had finished the campaign in the original game (which was quite hard but not as much as this mission version in DE) If what I've been told is true, and all of his missions are this difficult, at least it's consistent within his campaign. Is there something I'm missing here?Īnd I don't care that Saladin is harder than this. I tried every unit I could think of but nothing works. I remember this worked perfectly in HD version when I was like seven, but now there are towers that can outrage canons, knights that destroy battering rams in seconds, and armies of archers that kill everything else. Defending against them just isn't an option, so i tried to sneak past the main road, use boat and go along the left border of the map to my destination. I built a castle, which took care of Longbows, but English bring like four trebuchets a wave, along with impossible ammo of archers that can stop even knights from destroying the trebuchets. This worked out a lot better, but it's still a dead end. I tried moving around the camp/destroying it (multiple attempts for each) and taking the yellow town as my fort. Sixth and last one is incredibly unfair.Īfter ten defeats, I figured out trying to hold the Burgundian camp in the middle of the map is ridiculous. Then I tried Joan of Arc, and it was also doable. Then I tried Dracula campaign and passed it on hard difficult no problem. I started with William Wallace campaign and had no issues (obviously since it's the tutorial). Last mission in Joan of Arc campaign is significantly more difficult than everything prior to it is.
